John comes to DKM with over 28 years in the real estate, acquisition, appraisal and right-of-way environment. This includes 18 years in real estate sales and appraisal, land agent for Union Gas and Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline, and contracted land agent and land manager in both the United States and Canada for ANR Pipelines, Bell Canada, Enbridge Gas and TranCanada Pipelines. John supervised field agents in the acquisition of over 300 properties for Maritimes & Northeast Pipelines on the Maritimes project in New Brunswick and a further 200 properties on the Saint John Lateral Project.
Acting as Lands Manager for the New Brunswick portion of the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline Project, he initiated and carried through lands and community relations projects, beginning with the development and implementation of the first lands relations program in Canada for Union Gas, and later implemented a similar program for Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline. He prepared budget estimates for acquisition activities on the M&NP project which was succesfully completed on time and on budget. He concluded successful negotiations with hundreds of government, corporate, and private individuals and stakeholders. He advised and supervised agents in the resolution of damage related issues, both during and after construction, on over 8 major pipeline projects, as well as numerous smaller transmission, distribution pipelines, oil, gas and mineral exploration, storage and abandonment projects.
John currently acts as supervisor of Right-of-Way for Emera Brunswick Pipeline Company Ltd. on the Brunswick Pipeline Project in New Brunswick.
With extensive experience in managing and over-all supervision of right-of-way agents and support staff, Bob was responsible for the successful acquisition of easement rights across 400 individual properties for Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline Project through Nova Scotia; an additional 176 properties for the Halifax Lateral plus several fee simple purchases for valve sites, custody transfer stations and compressor stations. He preformed community relations activities related to the pipeline projects including speeches and presentations to community groups and municipal councils throughout Nova Scotia; witness training; preparation and participation in the National Energy Board Hearings on the application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for the pipelines as well as the National Energy Board detailed Route Hearings and Natural Resources Canada Arbitration Hearings.
Bob successfully negotiated fee simple purchases and pipeline easement agreements with the Province of Nova Scotia and several major corporate landowners withing Nova Scotia. A member of the committees that reviewed geological, environmental, engineering and lands information Bob was part of the team that planned the pipeline corridor routes; prepared the Letter of Commitments for land owners and the Emergency Response Plan for the Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline. He was also a member of the Sable Community Advisory Committee. Prior to his involvement with M&NP, Bob worked as a geologist and landman in the Canadian natural resources and energy industries, both onshore and offshore, for over 30 years including acquiring land access permission for government and private company projects.
Bob currently is the Right-of-Way Manager for the Emera Brunswick Pipeline company Ltd. Project in New Brunswick; Director, Geologist and Land Agent for Stealth Ventures Ltd.; President of Jammin Rock Resources Inc.
Peter has over 32 years of experience in the land acquisition profession. He possesses a proven track record as an effective negotiator and communicator with very strong orginizational skills and is capable of delivering the proper information on both major power line and pipeline projects. Most recently, Peter has been employed as a Senior Contract Right-of-Way Agent with the NB Power International power line project from Point Lepreau Terminal to Woodland Maine under the control of the National Energy Board. He was responsible for the acquisition of easements crossing over 100 properties. Previous to this project, Peter was employed as a Regional Right-of-Way Agent working on contract with NB Power's Rothesay District. from December 1997 to August 2001, Peter worked as a senior Right-of-Way Agent on the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline Saint John Lateral Project. He was responsible for the acquisition of easement crossing over 200 properties stretching from the Irving Oil refinery in East Saint John to the M&NP Mainline near the Saint Croix River in Charlotte County, New Brunswick. During this time, Peter worked as a member of a great team of pipeline professionals to bring natural gas to Saint John's major industrial customers.
Previous to the M&NP lateral project, Peter was employed in Ontario working on contract for TransCanada Pipelines, Bell Canada, Union Gas Ltd. and InterProvincial Pipeline as well as working in the oil and gas patch. He started his career as a Land Acquisition Professional serving 9 years with the New Brunswick Telephone Company.
Peter currently works as a Senior Right-of-Way Agent on the Emera Brunswick Pipeline Company Ltd. Project in New Brunswick.
